Ukraine is changing — and communities must change with it.
Millions of Ukrainians are already living with new realities — injuries, changed mobility, forced displacement, and the return to civilian life after the front line. This is not a temporary condition that will pass. It is a new demographic reality Ukraine will live with for many years to come.
In this reality, accessibility is no longer a social issue “for someone else.” It becomes a prerequisite for whether a person can move independently, work, receive healthcare, rest, and be part of their city.

Fragmented accessibility
Today, accessibility often exists as a set of isolated solutions. Even the best intentions of communities do not deliver quality results without responsible design, qualified professionals, and a holistic view of a person’s journey. One inaccessible link breaks the entire route.
An accessible entrance does not work without an accessible sidewalk.
An adapted restroom does not solve the problem if it cannot be reached.

REMEMBERS is a workshop for restoring connections. We work simultaneously with space, people, competencies, and social norms. Only by combining these four levels can we move from isolated inclusive solutions to an environment where respect brings equals together.
